An acquaintance of mine came for a consult – a second opinion –because he was aware of the excessive erosion of his lower incisors and maxillary anterior teeth. From his initial evaluation he was a class 3 with an anterior edge-to-edge bite. Records were taken. The checkpoints work, I have had checkpoints where the teeth were not touching and have had the patient admit that they have not been wearing the trays as long as they should. I've had them wear that set for a week or two longer and the teeth moved to the desired position. The checkpoints again make me feel like I am in control of the treatment.
